Elder Tommie S. Eiland,III was raised in Chicago, Illinois. At an early age he accepted Christ and joined the Christian Missionary Baptist Church, of Chicago, Illinois in 1974. As he grew and matured in his faith Elder Eiland served in the United States Naval Services for 4 years while also pursuing his undergraduate degree in Business Administration. While stationed in Long Beach, CA & San Diego, CA, he faithfully served at "The Cornerstone Baptist Church" of Los Angeles, CA under the Leadership of the Late Rev. James Cleveland.
Later upon his return home following the completion of his Naval service tour in 1986, he re-established his fellowship with the Christian Missionary Baptist Church and immediately enrolled at the Bryant Stratton College located in the city of Chicago persistant to finish his studies and obtain his Bachelor's Degree.
Shortley after his graduation in 1988, Elder Eiland heard the voice of Jesus and answered , accepting his call from the Lord into the ministry at the age of 24, under the leadership of the late Rev. John Taylor,Sr. of Christian Missionary Baptist Church.
Upon his calling, the Lord reassigned Elder Eiland sending him to work under the leadership of Rev. Ollie James, Pastor of the Greater Mt. Carmel M.B. Church, of Chicago. November 13, 1988 Elder Eiland preached his trial sermon: "Have Faith In God", and was licensed November 19, 1989.
One year later [1990], upon the request of Pastor Alfonso Stewart (Christ Deliverance Church) Pastor O. James, gave Elder Eiland his blessings and sent him to assist Pastor Stewart. While under the leadership of Pastor Stewart, Elder Eiland, faithfully served on the ministerial board and with the music department as director and one of many lead singers.
While there he continued to mature and grow stronger in his ministry, and in August of 1993, the Lord gave the orders and reassigned elder Eiland to return home.
Shortly thereafter, Elder relocated to New Orleans, LA, and while there faithfully served for two years and seven months under the leadership of Elder Willie Brown of Full Gospel Church of God In Christ [1031 N. Claiborne].
April of 1996, he returned home and re-established himself with the fellowship of his home church.
September of 1997 after much prayer and waiting, Elder left Christian Missionary Baptist Church and joined the fellowship of The New Christian Life Baptist Church under the leadership of the newly appointed 'Pastor Elect' Rev. Ronald Ellis [formerly of Christian Missionary Baptist Church].
While serving under Pastor Ellis, Elder Eiland enrolled into the Chicago Baptist Institue, seminary school and continued to assist Reverend Ronald Ellis.
On November 18, 1999, exactly 10 years to the date of his licensing, he was ordained and continues even unto this day as a faithful and dutiful servant.
During the interim of Elder Eiland serving in his local fellowhsip, God impregnated him with a vision in 2001, and placed it on his heart September 23, 2003 to organize: Kerygma_Koinonia Ministries, Inc.
Since the ministries inception it has and continues to be the desire of Elder Eiland, in many of his endeavor 's of "Kingdom Building" to reach those individuals young or old, educated or not, down trodden, hurt, suffering, lost, hopeless and without a relationship with Christ or a fellowship with a local church of this great city and even throughout the United States, to come into the knowledge of Jesus Christ, and accept Christ and His plan of salvation.
Furthermore it is also the desire of Elder Eiland, that the lives of all he meet are impacted and changed, not only through his ministry, but also through his life as well.
